How will the Generosity Campaign affect my normal tithe or offering?

• The SER\T Generosity Campaign is different from our annual giving that supports our operational budget. This campaign is essentially ‘above and beyond’ your normal tithe or offering, as you have capacity to do so.

How can I get involved?

• Throughout the campaign, we will have a variety of formal opportunities where SER\T community members can share their gifts - writing thank you cards, being hospitality ambassadors at events, taking photos and videos - however, we hope everyone will share SER\T’s story with others.

How will the commitments be paid?

• You are welcome to choose the frequency and method for your gift. Currently, we have the ability to accept gifts via our online giving platform, check, and bank draft. We ask that gifts be completed by April 2026.

What about assets other than money? 

• Assets that can be converted to cash such as real estate, stocks, bonds, life insurance, and other securities are excellent ways to give. Gifts of appreciated assets may have additional tax benefits to the donor. Contact SER\T’s Director of Operations, Adwoa Asante, for more information - seradmin@esumc.org 

How much are we expected to give?

• The only expectation is that each person discerns, “God, what do you want to do through me in this generosity campaign?” We trust we will be able to celebrate major God-sized dreams by our ten-year anniversary because of your generosity, whether you believe your gift is great or small.

What do the Generosity Campaign funds go towards?

• The funds from the campaign will subsidize three major aspects of our church life as outlined in our case for support. Ultimately, the hope is to build our capacity and ensure SER\T’s financial sustainability for years to come.  

What is the most important thing to do now?

• Though it sounds cliche, we hope you will make prayerful discernment your first priority. One of our core values is: “We believe in the power of prayer.” And we really do! Prayer is a pathway to hearing God’s voice leading us to take God-sized action and to live out God-sized dreams. Let spiritual disciplines guide you in whatever role you are being called to take in this generosity campaign.
